  • Art Teacher (PK-8th Grade Program)

    The ideal candidate must have the ability to articulate a Biblical worldview and consider himself or herself to be an educator who embraces current best practices. Candidates should possess a desire to grow within a professional learning community and be enthusiastic about teaching and learning. Candidates should exhibit a passion for teaching and working with children and uphold the highest standards of excellence professionally and personally. Candidates should be willing to collaborate with staff members and families.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Provides appropriate feedback and encouragement to students on their work.
    • Monitors the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching
    • Communicates necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress
    • Teach knowledge and skills in 2D and 3D art, including but not limited to: drawing, painting, ceramics, and art history. Provides instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations along with the ability to make qualitative judgments about art
    • Knows and can apply elements of art and modern principles of design
    • Models the foundations and different approaches to drawing media technique
    • Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities
    • Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment
    • Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community.

  • Physical Education (PK-8th Grade Program)

    Christian Hills School is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and passionate Physical Education Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The ideal candidate must have the ability to articulate a Biblical worldview and consider himself or herself to be an educator who embraces current best practices. Candidates should possess a desire to grow within a professional learning community and be enthusiastic about teaching and learning. Candidates should exhibit a passion for teaching and working with children and uphold the highest standards of excellence professionally and personally. Candidates should be willing to collaborate with staff members and families.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Experienced in teaching Physical Education to elementary school-aged students
    • Articulates knowledge of best practices in teaching Physical Education
    • Proficient in integrating the Biblical worldview into instruction
    • Articulates understanding of the unique developmental needs of elementary school students
    • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills
    • Shows skill and sensitivity in working with all members of the school community
    • Willing to contribute regularly to school community activities
    • Experienced teachers preferred
  • Spanish Teacher (PK-8th Grade Program)

    • Instructs and supervises students in a variety of school-related settings.
    • Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Is particularly adept at generating student conversation in the
    • Spanish language.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
    • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
    • Plans and implements instructional programs that adhere to goals and priorities and meet the needs, interests,
    • and abilities of students.
    • Prepares and documents appropriate lesson plans, based upon adopted curricula, in order to reach
    • instructional objectives.
    • Skill in communicating with students, their parents, administrator, and others.
    • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently.
  • Preschool Teacher

    We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our staff. You will help the lead teacher develop curriculum for the different age groups within our student population and implement lesson plans throughout the school day, including small group rotations. Our program boasts a low student-to-teacher ratio and individualized care to ensure all of our students learn at their own pace. We prefer candidates who have a background in early childhood developmental education and experience working with young children. The ideal candidate must have the ability to articulate a Biblical worldview and consider himself or herself to be an educator who embraces current best practices. Candidates should possess a desire to grow within a professional learning community and be enthusiastic about teaching and learning. Candidates should exhibit a passion for teaching and working with children and uphold the highest standards of excellence professionally and personally. Candidates should be willing to collaborate with staff members and families.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Collaborate with other teachers to develop age-appropriate curriculum
    • Prepare for lessons by gathering materials or setting up activities
    • Read stories and lead students through alphabet and letter recognition
    • Engage and encourage students to use their language skills; develop social skills and manners
    • Monitor students’ playtime and physical activities
    • Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials
    • Enforce school-wide safety procedures, disciplinary codes, and rewards
    • Supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch, and play periods
    • Ensure space and toys are clean, sanitized, and orderly
    • Document student developments and progress to share with parents
    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, teaching, or
    • related field preferred
    • 1+ years of experience working with young children
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Patient and compassionate to young children’s needs and emotions
  • Substitute Teacher

    Christian Hills School is seeking substitute teachers who have enjoyed success in high quality educational environments. This individual must understand the importance of teaching the whole child, demonstrate the ability to love and build community, and have a passion to integrate the truth of Christ in all situations.

  • After-Care Worker

    This is an after-school program that emphasizes academic excellence and spiritual growth. We are seeking driven and compassionate workers to work with our students.

    Essential Tasks

    • Providing direct care to a team of up to 30 students.
    • Lead programs for reading activities, spiritual mentoring, and academic assistance.
    • Maintain student attendance and enrollment data. Qualifications
    • Must have a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, be a member or regular attendee of a Bible-believing church, and model biblical/Christian principles.
    • Develop relationships with students, families, and school.
    • Lead groups of students in academic, extra-curricular and spiritually enriching activities.
